Tonight’s interview from Oklahoma City is with Sounds infielder Eugenio Velez, who enters play Thursday having reached safely in 31 consecutive games (one game shy of matching the PCL’s longest streak this year) and hit safely in 17 consecutive games. Velez discusses coming to the Sounds and seeing some familiar faces, including Sounds manager Mike Guerrero; his approach at the plate as a batter that has speed and some power; his time in the major leagues with the Giants, including ’10 when they won the World Series; and what baseball was like for him growing up in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic.
